it's Georgia. Obama wouldn't campaign there for the Dem (whatever his name is) because it was a lost cause before it started.
i agree that Palin was the force behind this election. clearly this means that she should be the nominee in 4 years to run against Obama. man, would she ever be tough to beat! my money is on her.
now, for an election that is close . . . look at Minnesota. it could end up being a single digit election after the recount and after Franken finds all of the ballots in trunks of cars that he needs. heh.
i was being very sarcastic. i don't actually think Palin is worth anything as even the middle finds her repulsive. i knew this election was a lost cause if the Dem couldn't win with Obama's supporters back in November then today was just a formality.
1. as said, it's GA ! .. redder than a ripe strawberry.
2. many "bubbas" here. Guns and Jesus-freaks.
3. Jim Martin ran a terrible race and still came close on Nov 4th. (i.e. he wasn't a great candidate)
4. He ran a worse run-off and amazingly wasn't trounced 80-20%.
5. Turnout was much lower than the National election.
6. BOTH guys really stink when you really get down to it !! Both their ads were horrendous !!
so revel if you like, but it's really NOT that big a deal. Palin got some bubbas erect... so what ! ..any half-cute face could with many of these rednecks,.. many are on the low end of the academic scale.
You can talk all you want about "Palin power"... lets see her debate Obama in 2012... It'd be like a Pro Football team playing a High School team.
The GOP is so despirate for any silver lining out of the '08 election, they'll take even a female GW (Palin) as their "rising star".. not up to the task, ill informed, simple minded, poorly trained, little background, grounded in ideology ignoring facts and reality.. a carbon copy of GW except for the sex.
