Just to continue the sovereignty pretence for a moment the treaties were 'ratified' by the Iraqi Parliament on 27 November 2008. Since they purport to authorise only US troops to remain after 31 December 2008 I demand that British and all other foreign troops withdraw by that date as as required by the Mandate of Multinational Force in SC Res 9207 <---.
The other point is this... are these treaties binding or not?
If a nation believes that international treaties are optional does that mean they can't rely on these ones? Just wondering because if they're not binding all foreigners in Iraq will be trespassers from 1 January 2009 meaning that from that date Iraqi nationals can lawfully use force to eject them from their country.
Something wrong with your date, or did they use a time machine?
