My mac is displaying Black Pixils on the pictures I use as desktop images. I usualy use RYU images ( the clean kind mind you) becos they are just so cool. I can usualy get the black pixils to disapear if I cet the collers to thousands and then back to millions, but to day I started getting green pixils that simply won't go away. my system is a 500MHz Power PC G4 with 288 mb using os 10.2.8 I can't update the os becos I can't find the right fermware. What can I do.
The fact that it's new is a non-issue. New LCD screens can have dead or stuck pixels. Many manufacturers have a 3-pixel replacement warranty, perhaps you should give them a call and see if you can return the thing.

Are these green pixels showing up on the edges of colors on everything or just on the RYU images used on the desktop?
I bet they are happening on everything and follow Giz's link and likely get a new monitor. There are two times in the life of an LCD monitor that have the highest failure rates. Right out of the box brand new and when very old. Sounds like you have the former although I had green pixels showing up on the edges of everything which a restart would cure. I should have sent it back but for now the problem is gone.
Now if the problem is showing up only on the RYU image on the desktop you need to get higher quality images but I don't think that is the problem.
