Text and images, that is.

With the toolbar button ability to add images here as a floated image (formerly known as left aligned or right aligned), it's just good policy that they include some space surrounding them—especially on left-float so that adjacent text isn't butting right up against the image.

This has to be done at the CSS (style sheet) level, which means Neil will have to look into adding a padding/margin tag to the image style. I don't know if it can be done easily for him or not, but I'll point him to this thread.

Yep, I understand it requires a CSS tweak. But it's a simple one for somebody who know what to do. If li'l ol' code-fearing Phos can manage to do it in the MySpace and Blogger templates, a real web jockey should be able to do it with one hand tied behind their back.

See, it's things like this that gets me a little miffed about HTML being disabled.

The thing is, I know PLENTY of forums that allow HTML that rarely—if ever—have any problems, and that adds to my miffededness.

Seriously -- I just looked into the styles that I can change, and I don't seem to be able to do this.

I tried.

Heh, even at four years old, I was sick to dang death of my Dad sticking a camera in my face any time of the day or night. That shot was even taken during one of my favorite activities...riding my pedal tractor from one end of the block to the other, and back through the yard to the alley and the field behind the alley.

I'm still pretty camera shy. I'd make for a horribly maladjusted celebutante.

You need to add the code to the XXXXX.css style sheet itself, not in the forum software. It's not a question of whether or not you're allowed to, you just add it in with any text editor application. Sorry if you already knew that.

Perhaps Phos can share the code, since he's already used it on his site/mySpace? What say you, Phos?

No problem. I appreciate the comments.

It's actually a bit more funky than that. There's the css and source files -- which are part of the UBB solution. I'm trying very much NOT to touch that stuff as it makes it much more difficult to update to future versions. I only want to touch the stuff that is really mission critical.

Now, in addition to this, there's a bunch of css stuff stored as part of the template styles that I can edit to my heart's content without without worrying about new versions messing it up. It's here that I was trying to make the change. Problem is -- I can't control this issue here, and it's not important enough to deal with in the source code. smile

Hope that makes sense.

Thanks!

Neil
