The MiniStack arrived late yesterday. I opened the box and read the manual through and noted that they recommend setting the HD to Master only. I've always left them set for Cable Select without problem. Of course, I'll set the drive's jumpers to Master as recommended. I was just wondering if there is a significant difference.
If the cable or chip does not do cable select it would be a problem. The chip probably does, but the cable may not support it.
Look at the IDE cable from your G4, it has a little notch cut out of one wire. If you see that it can do cable select, but it also has to be a 80 wire cable, 40's wont do it.
