At some point, when Bush's incompetence became clear, I for one called him fool and all sorts of other nasty things. He deserved it.

I'm not about to drag all those threads up. My point, if I may beat you over the head with it, is ~ this place dripped with just as many Bush is a Monkey posts as it did with Bush's Policy is Less Than Stellar posts (probably more Monkeys than Less Than Stellar, but I'm pretending to be fair).

I'm a whole lot of things but I'm not a hypocrite. Maybe you missed those posts, shame if you did. Most of them were hysterical. Personal attacks, you betcha, and funnier than a moose trying to hump a chair marked "Veepette."

That's fine. Let it come back then so that people can answer for what they said. I just get so tired of the holier than thou proclamations about "even in this forum" without some meat to back it up.

I still say that it's fair to call Bush a monkey when his actions are monkey-like. Ditto for Obama if and when his actions are monkey-like.

I'm guilty f calling him an idiot, but I always thought that was fair. And consistent. I generally tend to exaggerate and refer to all dumb/stupid/ignorant people as idiots, regardless of their level of stupidity. And trust me, Obama will get that same branding, if he deserves it.

Really?
I mustn't be reading our papers carefully enough then.

You may be referring to those "85% of Germans would vote for Obama" glitzies from a few weeks ago, while the editorials in the main papers, like FAZ or TAZ have moved on already. The questions have become far more specific again/already.

Such as the understanding that Obama is subject to the same pressures as any other president, to prove that he is "tough on" whatever.

Take his stance toward Russia for instance. It plays fine at home, but is completely at odds with the facts (in Georgia, for instance) and the close ties between Russia and the EU.

As the campaign wore on, more and more of his lofty goals had been abandoned to the demands of electibility. That hasn't been lost on people here.

You mean this one?

"Germany is officially in recession and, according to a new forecast by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, the rest of the world's developed economies are in a downturn as well, with further contraction coming in 2009.
GDP in Germany, Europe's largest economy, contracted 0.5% in the third quarter after a 0.4% decline in the second quarter, marking the country's worst recession in 12 years. The Paris-based OECD on Thursday projected that GDP was likely to fall by 0.3% next for its 30 member countries. It expects contractions of 0.9% in the U.S., 0.5% in Europe and 0.1% in Japan."

Of course, the US will play for business-as-usual. When your economy depends on credits, you'd better put on confident airs.

Problem is that nobody buys that anymore. Far more important than what Obama will do, is what the Chinese have in mind.

No Worries...

I can't count how often I'd referred to him as "PINHEAD Inc"
or how many ways he should be tortured or killed, and even
"tossed to the wolves" (given over to the Iraqis for justice)

But AFAIC that still fell under his actions as PotUS.
I RARELY is ever stooped to childish personal attacks
(for one thing, because it would be demeaning to chimps)

I was also perhaps ('cept perhaps DLC wink ) the only one
who wasn't shy about using the "H" word (HATE)

OK, I know everyone "hates" Hitler references...but...
What chunky don't get is that "IF" we were -->GUILTY<--
of marching in blind Lock-Step with the PINHEAD President;
it would have been no different in claiming that we were
"ONLY FOLLOWING ORDERS" in the eyes of the World Court
which (if there's a molecule of justice in the world)
PINHEAD Inc. will one day be held accountable to.

And...and..AND... the difference between Obama and
Douche Bush was that Barack Obama didn't have to
pull every dirty trick in the book to steal the election.
