My only gripe on an old 17" CRT with 1024x768 resolution is having the content area of the page narrow and bit cluttered with this setup. I suppose it is purposely set as adjusting width in the middle and absolutes on the sides to get more exposure to the ads.
Try resizing the browser window on wide(r) screen displays and you see what I mean.
I tried having the posters' info on top of the post to conserve the content area width, but blech...seemed to waste space even more.
Oh and uhmmm...about clicking on the ads; I find it kind of dumb for them to open up in the same tab/window with the regular left-click.
Anyways, I can live with this perfectly fine, mind you. And as a web designer among other things I see the reasoning behind this layout and I don't know the analytics on this site, so I don't know what screen sizes are the most common, though I do know my size probably isn't among them anymore.
And since this feedback forum is here, why not post something.

Thanks for the feedback.
In general, screens have gotten larger. 20" are very common. But, you are right, the middle is meant to be where the space changes to make the most of an enlarging window.
The MacTech site will be going through a major redesign at some point. I'll address the rest of the look and feel when we do that.
