The icons are nice! I like very much, and especially Stan's lounge which keeps the old MM logo. But I agree that they are a bit large, and cutting down on that may also cut down on scroling on the site.

After you added the icons I noticed you have two different forums for server related stuff ...that's probably overkill. I think you could easily combine the two and still have an extremely inactive forum
My only comment about the icons is that I'd suggest using a different icon for the Applications forum ...one can only handle so much Microsoft related imagery

Not for the group that will be coming from MacTech. Much more technical crowd.

Okay, well I know what you mean, but I guess it all depends on your definition of the phrase, "spice things up" LOL. I've never seen a group of geeks "spice things up" in the wild and crazy party sense.
