It appears this forum has a maximum allowable size for pictures in posts. 400 pixels wide? Is true. Not that I am against it. Sometimes the posts with large pictures really screwed up reading text.
The picture [for test purposes] below is actually 1920 pixels wide. Actual size
I wonder too, if a really long url would expand the viewing window of a post. I'm guessing it will not. That is a good 'feature' too.
Just did another test
I dragged the 400 pixel wide photo in this post, in my browser, to the desktop and viewed it in the browser again on it's own window and it reverts to the original gargantuan size. Handy if I want to blow up those stars in the heavens pictures posted.
That's not a good way as I just found out by replying. The reply window gets totally stretched as the original is posted below. The better way is to leave as is since all one has to do is ctrl click on the image and "open in new window" is the first selection which gives the big photo.
In the long run I would advocate boosting the 400 limit up to 640. Everything except the original MacPlus can show a 640 wide photo.
Besides, my neverending Panasonic Lumix TZ5 thread gets toasted by the 400 limit.
This is 400. I think it could be bigger, 540 to 640. I do like a limitation though as sometimes people may not know how to size, and then like Kate mentioned, you have to side scroll right to read.

Yeah -- it's just because he's a moderator as we've been moving threads around. At some point, I'll figure out a better setup for permissions. It's actually fairly involved.
