First off, thanks again for the smooth transition. It's like buttah now.
I think overall the forum looks good. The only suggestion I have is to add some more cell padding so the text doesn't butt up against the edges of boxes and graphics. That would open things up and make it a little easier on the eyes. But it's not a deal-breaker by any stretch. My 2 cents.
I agree with Mike. The message text almost touches the tan top and left side, at least in the stock theme. Certainly doesn't look terrible, but if it can be adjusted, great.

I don't think the appearance is a big deal. Once you're used to a new forum, it fades to the background.
That said, I think some more padding is a great suggestion for improving usability and readability. More white space (not just around posts but in the user-info sidebar as well) would reduce a sense of clutter and complexity that I get from the current layout, as well as feeling less cramped (even though in reality it would use up MORE space, I realize).
