1. THIS is nothing !
I heard a story 2 days ago on NPR and many state voting and residency laws are very vague and need revision and clarification. So it's not surprising that some will pull their registration and ballots to play it safe.
This is especially a problem for out of state college students and that's what the story was about. IT doesn't imply illegal acts being willfully committed - its a reflection of the confusion in the nebulous voter laws on the books.

2. you gotta do better than this Windy ! ... lay off the kool-aid...
you're blowing smoke again like the beaten up McCain worker !!
that was a BIG SCAM ...

David (OFI)
I don't know but many only live there 9 months and then home for 3... it's a real problem...
Should they be disenfranchised because they're a student and NOT living in their home state most of the year? I don't think anyone could logically argue that one.

The other problem is they're at school on voting day - November - so in most cases, they can't go home and vote. They could absentee vote weeks before but they have to go home and apply and then what does their home state say about residency given they may live at home 2-3 months of the year?

It's a real headache for the student and the states ! ... but it's certainly not intentional fraud.

David (OFI)

My son's registered at school, not at home. He's in-state, though. I don't know how it would work if he were in another state.

[color:red] [color:orange] [color:yellow] [color:green] [color:blue] [color:purple]
