I suspect I'm a bit of an anomaly. If eating establishments relied on me they'd be broke. The last time I ordered in was when a friend came over Aug 29th and we ordered pizza. When I went out for Thanksgiving dinner that was the first meal I didn't cook since the pizza.

I'm curious. How many times a week/month do most folks dine out or order food in? Include fast food joints.

Once every two weeks usually Chinese take out or Pizza. Otherwise it is sitting down to dinner. This is with one kid in the house (other in college). With two kids in the house the frequency might go up to once a week (usually Thursday night). Sunday is always a big sit down meal in the afternoon.

The big destroyer of the sit down dinner is soccer practice, piano practice, etc.. But the kids know that eventually before nine we will sit down and eat. We tell them in France no one eats until 10.

Usually once a week my wife and I sneak out of the house for brunch.
Once a month we take or son and adopted daughter out to dinner.
My son Josh always chooses a hamburger fries and a coke as for Sang our daughter she chooses by price .
So every so often I take Sang out to all you can eat places she is 5 ft 7
weighs about 120 lbs and will eat four plates of food and still have room for sweets cake/ice cream/pastries/ect/ect/ect/ect /To Infinity and beyound.

Once, maybe twice a month we'll eat out, meet friends for ritas and TexMex. Delivery about the same. My cooking skills are limited, Jim is an excellent cook but as often as not we have Every Man For Himself for dinner.

When LIttle Sister and I are on the road, we get sooooooo sick of eating out. Or ordering in. We have a decent per diem for meals, so we try to be really adventurous ~ "What do you do for fun at the end of a hard day of field work?" "Find the weirdest place possible for dinner."

[color:white]xx[color:blue]I always deserve it. Really.

August 29th is about the last time we'd eaten in our own home until this week as we were in Europe and only had 1 home cooked meal in the entire 45 days -- at krasni's house.

now, in normal weeks i think we eat out about twice a week for dinner. i am much more likely to eat a prepared meal from the grocery store at lunch, though. i often go there and buy sushi or something quick from the deli. that's not eating out, but it's not really eating a home cooked meal either.

--
[color:red] Kansas Jayhawks -- 2008 National Champions

Pretty much every single day.

The only meal I ever eat is lunch. I might snack on peanuts or something at night if I'm inclined but for the most part I pass on dinner.

Hey I'm an F'n Jerk!®

I only have fast food maybe twice a year just to remind myself just how awful it really is. My wife and I only go out maybe once every three months and ordering delivery falls into the fast food category. Since we're both good cooks, it's usually easier and cheaper to just do it ourselves.

Must be something there to 'wash' the nuts down . . .

Evenings I have wine, cheese, crackers, or popcorn, or veggies and chees.

I dine out or bring home maybe twice a month.

My chef is so good though, Marie does something different ever day for late lunch.

Marie Callendar
