I've only been hearing about it on local radio programs. They've been talking about how bad the situation is and about the local people who have volunteered to go down there to help out. My guess is that the volunteers are calling home and telling the "real story"... Sad when we need to have an "underground news network" in order to learn the truth. :-(

Trey great ya still alive and did well .

[color:blue]It looks like I won't have power for at least a few more days, - Hurricane Ewa we did not have power for 3 months - so ya doing okay - mainly because 44,000 poles went down and out of that 40,000 had to be shipped in.

[color:blue]so in the meantime I'm staying with some friends who have power but no internet. - back then there was NO internet , so I did not miss that. However I do remember spending lots of time standing in lines behind "National Guard" potable water trucks for 3 months due to no electric power for the water pumps to pump water from wells , this means no toilets yada yada - then standing in line for 3 months at "National Guard Trucks" for RMEs , Ready to Eat Meals , because grocery stores quickly ran out of stock in 2 days.

btw; RME Chicken Ala King was the best in 1982 - I hope its even better now

Anyway great that today the US can recover faster then before
