You're right, DLC, or like them putting missiles in Honduras or Belize---we'd have a complete fit over that. But the media generally fails to have the slightest inkling of such a possible comparison, and lets Bush and McCain hurdle us back into a Cold War. And having Georgia, a country contiguous to Russia, planning to join NATO! Good move! That certainly smoothes things out diplomatically with the Russians. But once again, this being any sort of problem has generally escaped the wise people in the U.S. media. It's not enough we have problems with the Islamic world already. Let's create new ones!

Shame on you, keymaker, for your clumsy use of the Polish tornado to bring up your point. That was, in my opinion, as bad as provoking Armageddon.

Don't talk about bad taste - what's in bad taste is the US government lying its arse off about a non-existent nuclear threat from Iran as justification for dumping unwanted weapons in Europe and the Poles falling for it with no regard to the risks imposed on their own people and the rest of Europe. What's in bad taste is them taking part in a US torture programme as part of the criminal co-operation going on between two governments when we told them it was not allowed and what's in bad taste is mute acceptance in the United States of acts of genocide being committed against Palestinians with their weapons, for example.

km

In reply to:

Shame on you, keymaker, for your clumsy use of the Polish tornado to bring up your point.

Rubbish. Both stories are newsworthy and the connection I made between then was quite transparent.

km

That's OK.

We are at the stake
And bayed about with many enemies.
And some that smile have in their hearts, I fear,
Millions of mischiefs.

Anyway, it's hard to keep track of everything that's going on.

In reply to:

it's hard to keep track of everything that's going on.

and that's just in this thread... I was going to say 'bollocks' instead of 'rubbish' but then I thought you might consider it to be in bad taste!

km

I'm sorry, I assumed with your education and background, you'd appreciate a good metaphor. As it apparently went over your head, I'll try not to waste anymore. But I just can't make any promises.

[color:white]xx[color:blue]I always deserve it. Really.
