The motion has only passed committee. It still needs to pass the full house. So that leaves it up to Pelosi.

What I find idiotic is the way that the GOP house members on that committee are obstructing it. Why stand up for Karl Rove and such a crappy president? There is no reason outside of party unity, which is not worth a whole lot when your investigating what is likely to be a crime.

-- Cee Bee Double-U
They're opposing it because it's a conspiracy of the Vast Liberal Media to slander all conservatives !!!

If this were you or I - our butts would be sitting in jail !!

so much for "equal justice under the law".

David (OFI)
Ha! I'd expect there's going to be some kind of "executive priviledge" immunity for all the Bush players charged or not. If Gonzales and Meirs and Rove don't know by now that there is the "get out of jail free card" waiting for them, then how could they can tell the congress and the courts to go f*ck themselves so easily?

Very good point Dave. People, myself included, argue that it is too late to impeach GW because it would only further distract our nation this late in the game (his administration I mean). But the case seems to tilt the other way if you consider the people he might/will pardon in the waning days of his waning administration. I guess they have to be sure not to indict too many people before his administration ends. Of course, just hiring somebody to give him a blowjob would be a faster track to impeachment, but what can you do?

PS Yep, still in Malaysia. I have even been checking up now and then here. Part of the reason is because I realized Malaysia is more expensive than the countries I usually travel in and if I don't take it slowly I'd run out of money in a week, but also because internet access at my guest house is free, also a definite rarity in most of the countries I usually travel. I just learned to SCUBA and can't figure out why I never tried it earlier. Take care guys.

We are STILL what we repeatedly do. -Aristotle
