Hope you're all OK. The news report says the quake was felt in Las Vegas . . . hope Giz checks in. Gary is in Palm Springs, and I bet he felt it too.

[color:red] [color:orange] [color:yellow] [color:green] [color:blue] [color:purple]

So far we are good!! Our friends brother lives in Chino Hills, and he says it felt like someone lifted the house and slammed it back on it's foundation!
I'm in Burbank and it felt at first like someone heavy was running down the hallways, then it felt like the building was rolling atop smooth boulders.

Wow. I've been in only one earthquake, a puny 3.1, and that was terrifying. I can't imagine a serious one.

[color:red] [color:orange] [color:yellow] [color:green] [color:blue] [color:purple]

I've been through a healthy amount, my first was back in 1971 the San Fernando quake a 6.6, I remember my bed rolling from one side of the room to the other, it felt like a roller coaster ride.

Have you ever driven over rocky terrain in your car? Well, it's kinda like that except imagine your house or the building your in as the vehicle.

A few years back I was working at Universal Studios inside the tower building on the 25th floor and an earthquake hit, being so high up the building had a subtle soft sway to it. And as I was looking out the window from my office I noticed the horizon tipping slightly, this was my only indicator that we had a quake.

Fortunately no major problems, the residence of Chino Hills (the epicenter) have reported broken glass and cracks in walls and some have noted foundation cracks.

I felt one quick hard jolt, lasted about 2 seconds ... my home is on bedrock so I don't get a lot of the shaking ... and I'm about 80 miles from the epicenter.

Waiting for the Big One...
