http://www.cuil.com/

Just went live today. From CNN.com:
"Anna Patterson's last Internet search engine was so impressive that industry leader Google Inc. bought the technology in 2004 to upgrade its own system.

She believes her latest invention is even more valuable - only this time it's not for sale."

my photos
i am missing something. i started typing my name and it was giving me potential completed search phrases. my name wasn't included so i kept typing. eventually my name was typed and i hit enter. i am still waiting for the results about 40 seconds later. i think her servers are overloaded and that's not a good start.

ah, done. i own my domain of my name and i am the 8th highest return only. the 7 links ahead of me are from sites i've never heard of, nor do i know the people. then again, i just noted it included a site called http://veromi.com/ -- it actually knows a lot about me. sort of scary. heh.

my guess is that this site never catches on and she'll end up selling.

--
[color:red] Kansas Jayhawks -- 2008 National Champions
Verrrrrry

Bet they make a fortune. I tried it out on Little Sister and it referenced work she did when she was curator of the Architectural Drawings Collection at UT, Austin. Wha! cuil is so cool, it let me brag major about my Little Sister! I love this thing!

[color:white]xx[color:blue]I always deserve it. Really.

Wow, that is amazing since on my name the first two hits are me and they are really good hits making me look smart. The first one making me look stupid was on the tenth page, woot! Me likey.

The acronym for my lab "MBCF" which I have stamped on the back of my business card, "just google MBCF" came back with the entire first page with hits linking to my lab.

I like Anna's search engine.

ps. I did have to use my middle initial or else I was swamped by the Kansas DA who was caught banging women on his office desk. Same name as me but different middle initial. Sex even swamps out cancer research.

just tried it again and my search happened much more quickly, but this is all i got when typing my name:
In reply to:

We didn’t find any results for “FSM”

Some reasons might be...

* a typo. Please check your spelling.
* your search includes a term that is very rare. Try to find a more common substitute.
* too many search terms. Please try fewer terms.

Finally, try to think of different words to describe your search.

About Cuil | Your Privacy | Add Cuil to Firefox

when i search my name in Google, i am the top hit and i am 10 of the first 12 links. i just got my name to work with Cuil again and i am on the second page. each time stuff appears in a different order for me.
--
[color:red] Kansas Jayhawks -- 2008 National Champions
Edited by FSM on 07/28/08 09:18 AM (server time).
