... for the liberal media to reform itself. Although with newsrooms stacked with Democrats, I hardly think so.

But .. The Slate is showing signs of a little "fair and balanced" opinion.

Why the Press Is Ignoring the Edwards "Love Child" Story
A DOUBLE STANDARD IS AT WORK.
By Jack Shafer

Everybody had a good laugh last August when Roll Call broke the story about Sen. Larry Craig, R-Idaho, getting arrested at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport for playing footsies in a toilet stall. The late-night talk show hosts mined the material for days; Slate produced a re-enactment of the bathroom ballet; and newspapers, magazines, and cable channels shredded Craig.

The angle taken by most reporters and commentators wasn't that Craig's restroom conduct was particularly shameful. The press doesn't object to same-sex sex at all, nor should it. Craig's true offense, said the press and the clowns, was hypocrisy, which they consider an inexcusable crime.

You will recall that when this story broke, on the frist day, the liberal media couldn't report enough that Larry Craig was a REPUBLICAN senator:

Yet when New York Democrat Governor Eliot Spitzer was caught in his own sex scandal hypocrisy, the liberal media assigned no political affiliation to Spitzer during its evening Newscast nor on The Today Show.

Now they remain mum on yet another Democrat, as is being pointed out:

But if Edwards had an affair and lied about it, shouldn't he suffer scrutiny akin to that of Craig? At least three-dozen daily newspapers in the United States published the Craig news the day after the Roll Call scoop, according to Nexis, but this morning not a single U.S. daily mentioned the Enquirer piece.

***************

nuttin'

did the National Enquirer break the Craig story? i am pretty sure the media had an actual arrest record and public information to confirm it. maybe you weren't aware of that, though.

Edwards is not getting the VP nod even before this story broke. Edwards is effectively out of the picture so i can see how he's deserving of the Enquirer's attention -- perhaps the story is true. i haven't read it yet because i am still reading about the alien cover up story they're currently reporting as well.

--
[color:red] Kansas Jayhawks -- 2008 National Champions

...and more seriously: Bush On the Couch

wherein he's classified as a Classic Sociopath w/Sadistic Tendencies!

In reply to:

Bush on the Couch: Inside the Mind of a President is the title of a 2004 book by psychoanalyst
Justin Frank. The central premise of Frank's book is that President George W. Bush displays signs
of poor mental health which makes him particularly ill suited to rule the most powerful nation on
earth. Frank argues that Bush might suffer from megalomania, that he is probably not only uncapable
of true compassion, but actually shows a tendency towards sadism. Frank also analyses, among other
things, Bush’s famous habit of getting metaphors mixed up and convincingly concludes that Bush has
substancial problems with abstract, flexible thinking.

QUESTION: Who in their right mind would even HIRE This LOSER?
(let alone trust him @ the wheel of the most powerful 'Ship-of-State' in History)
.

[color:green]"...or am I a butterfly that's dreaming she's a woman?"
