I was in a time-warp ego trip today and came across this editorial.

So Much to Savor
A big win for ...by Peggy Noonan

It's a nauseating self-congratulatory piece about how great it was that George W. Bush won the 2004 election. I hope she is asked about it a lot these days. There was something buried in it though that I thought was funny, given the sort of arrogance that the op-ed was written from. Her crediting the Republican Party for defeating the "mainstream media" after the MSM basically enabled the Iraq War is pretty good. This line is great though...

In reply to:

The Democrats have lost their leader in the Senate, Tom Daschle. I do not know what the Democratic Party spent, in toto, on the 2004 election, but what they seem to have gotten for it is Barack Obama. Let us savor.

Only Barack eh?

Hey Peggy... whenever anyone of my friends meets someone from another country, they ask questions like, "Has Barack Obama been to your city?" Savor.

-- Cee Bee Double-U
That was interesting but if she said savor one more time I was going to puke. Calling Hannerty Limbaugh and Ingram "tough" also made me a bit ill. I won't make fun of her until Obama is in the White House as she could get the last savor. (Maybe someone could savor her liver if she did.)

I don't think Noonan is ever above ridicule. She does that terribly phony half smirk, preachy voice while she lauds praise on the Bush Administration and "the troops," but mostly the Bush Administration. That is, until it became unpopular to do so.

Lately, she has been saying all kinds of nice things about Sen. Obama. She knows which way the winds are blowing and as evidenced by her little diatribe linked above, she's a pretty stunning rhetorical opportunist.

-- Cee Bee Double-U
