And we might as well declare "victory" in Iraq since the big oil companies are being handed Iraq's oilfields in no-bid contracts, seems like offshore drilling and ANWR are really only political wedge issues being used to influence this election.

We legislate RIGHT NOW to eliminate the "Enron Loophole" laws that have allowed the investment speculators, the corporations and the bankers to cause this gas price crisis we're in. As long as investors call the shots and not actual production, do we really need to give into environmental risks to fill our coastlines with oil rigs?

Interesting article;

But really whats going to happen

Iraq is allowing this "no bid" to go through so the US Big Oil will spend their cash and train Iraqis to re-build their oil infrastructure on the US dollar. Once its all completed and humming along the Iraq government will take it all back and be State run again <-- Thats is what I would do if I was in their shoes and I don't think they are that stupid either.

[color:blue]Governments in countries like Bolivia and Venezuela are nationalizing their oil industries or seeking a larger share of the record profits for their national budgets. Russia and Kazakhstan have forced the major companies to renegotiate contracts.

Simply
Big Oil is taking a huge gamble on a very unstable govenrment in Iraq

Did you know they are about to become a fair sized oil producing nation?

Thanks to help from Canada and China, Cuba will be drilling for oil in the very near future. Guess where this motherload of oil is located? With a good telescope you should be able to watch from Key West.

Uncle Sam hasn't been amused that they can't play too.

According to this site we have about 42 years of oil left. Look about 3/4 the way down the chart. Either way, we've got to figure something out.

Too many lives they've spent across the ocean. Too much money been spent upon the moon. Well, until they make it right, I hope they never sleep at night. They better make some changes and do it soon. -Things Goin' On/Lynyrd Skynyrd
