heh, that's about how it worked for me as well.

amazon had the blue one near $300 2 weeks ago and the silver one was cheap. now the blue one is $269 and the silver is back to $300 along with the black. i bought the blue one right when it dropped to its current rate. look around if you don't find the color you want for $270 or less.

i really like this camera thus far. i can tell you that it doesn't shoot photos as nicely as my D70 but i don't really notice unless i blow images up. any prints i'd make up to about 8 x 12 are going to look just swell. heck, i think a 16 x 20 poster would look fine as well unless it was being scrutinized closely. but to have wide angle and 10x zoom in one small pocketable camera was just too much for me to pass up on.

--
[color:red] Kansas Jayhawks -- 2008 National Champions
To check to see if I had any dead pixels I shot blue sky

and lens cap

Blown up in photoshop highest resolution there is only blue and black no dead pixels and none turned on. The blue sky has the slightest of mottling but I forgot to switch it to manual and shoot it out of focus. I think I am seeing the stratosphere. None of the mottling is pixel sized.

(The blue border sort of thing going on in the pasted blue I think is from the reduction of the jpeg. In the huge 9 mp picture there is no border.)
I have some very large cameras in the lab that can't do that.

Hey thanks for the tips. I really am not concerned with color as I like all that are offered, although blue would be first choice. If I get one I will post my macro flower pictures just for Gizmo. HeeHee

oh yeah, that's going in the blog
that was exactly what i wanted when trying to decide. i couldn't find anything. here's some shots (i am skinny and short, fwiw) -- and these are taken from my iPhone:

something more standard to compare to:

if i set it on the CD i can see the CD on either side of the camera, fwiw.

--
[color:red] Kansas Jayhawks -- 2008 National Champions
easily. it's smaller in width and length than the iPhone (but it is a bit thicker). i can fit it in my pocket as i just did while walking the dog. not ideal for pockets, but it would easily fit in even a smaller purse.

--
[color:red] Kansas Jayhawks -- 2008 National Champions
