Just home from the "Evening of Excellence" at the college I'm graduating from (commencement ceremony is tomorrow at the Cape Cod Melody Tent). I had received a letter telling me that I was chosen to win a scholarship, but I had no eye deer which one or for how much. There were a lot of $500 scholarships being given out and then the amounts gradually increased as the list went on. When they announced a scholarship in the amount of $2,000 and then called my name, I started shaking so much that I could hardly walk up onto the stage to receive it. Whew! I was still shaking when I went back to my seat. My husband took some photos of the event... Here's the best one:<br><br><br><br>Oh well... We can't all be photographers! <br><br>I paid in advance for a professional photo of my graduation tomorrow, just in case the pics my husband takes don't come out... <br><br>I am now relaxing with a beer after a long day of graduation rehearsal and the scholarship ceremony. Just wanted to share the photo of the memorable event of the head of the person in front of my family with you all. LOL... <br><br>Mr. B, I would have hired you, but you've been booked solid with all those weddings. ;-)<br><br>

Thanks Carp. I'm working on a degree in IT now. That scholarship will pay for two courses, which is a great help, so I'm really excited about it. I'm going to write a thank you letter and they want me to stay in touch to let them know how I'm doing. <br><br>As far as the photos go, it's the thought that counts! <br><br>

I can tell you sincerely that the most gratifying thing I do every year is to decide who is going to get our awards and scholarships. We have one biggie, which comes to some 8000 every year, and we divide it among four students (sophomores and juniors).
