The price of a gallon of regular gasoline hit and surpassed the $4.00 in my neighborhood (SW IL). As of this Saturday morning, a gallon of gas will cost me $4.05!
Darn it...I guess it'll be around $5.00 on the 4th of July!

[color:blue][/b]Hodie mihi. Cras tibi.[/b]
This may sound like a political post, and I guess it is, in a non-partisan sort of way. But really, we need to think long and hard about a political system that has, for the last almost 40 years, since the first oil embargo, done all that it can to ignore the inevitability of oil shortages. Reps and Dems alike have gone out of their way not to offer real solutions to the real, inescapable problem that's now hitting the fan for us here in the US with such force. What kind of political system is it that allows lies and anodyne responses to crises? There ought to be a new edition of Kennedy's Profiles in Courage, retitled Profiles in Cowardice.

[color:red] [color:orange] [color:yellow] [color:green] [color:blue] [color:purple]
