No, not all. I think that some might, but definately not all.

but that's ok.

[color:white]I'm also the Moderator here

my photos

Next morning, both PMs were read one right after another: 6:14 am & 6:16 am. First the Mod then OSXaddict.

***********************

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uK6l2Sfb7I4

Hehe, I should have done a "select all" to see the hidden text in the moderator's messages..

My remaining thought, will I have time to increase my postings to a new title before we all go away?

[color:blue]flick[color:red]r

In reply to:

Oh my my my...I must say, (and don't take this the wrong way) the better use of the English language threw me off.

Glad you said this first. I knew from the first couple of posts that the moderator was John. Sounded just like him. But I think he tried to mask it by using the Queen's english. Didn't even have to check my IP tracking which would have been easy since his day job domain name was a cinch to link up to him.

To John, I apologize for going red line jackass when you deleted religious posts from the political forum when you first started moderating. You had a steep learning curve with the moderation job and did very well with only that misstep.

The sock puppet outing job you did was masterful. With humor and grace you pulled the rug out from under the liars and frauds. It was like retaking Psychology 101 realizing that there were people who had sock puppets that raged and screamed at a sock puppet on their other hand. It can never be calculated all the ill will generated by them and the newbies who stuck their toe in the MacMinute water only to have it bitten off because everyone of course thought them a sock puppet but your outing put an end to it. Too bad we only had a short time to enjoy the sock puppet free MacMinute. It is amazing what a difference it made. For people who are not going to MacCentral Cafe because politics might be spoken I wish you would check out the last year's posts in the political forum here. Not one person has been called a name. It is wall to wall intelligent conversation. Honest.

If Soultomy had only one rule at the new MacCentral Cafe I hope it would be that sock puppets should not be tolerated. Someone makes one for fun and they should be told it just is not a good idea no matter how much fun it seems. Mean sock puppets should be banished. Even the fun ones can cut the heart of trust out of any good forum. We will never know how good MacMinute could have been. The longest conversation I had with Stan was the problem of sock puppets and how much they totally sucked. Stan was much more forgiving than I would have been. But I'm head jackass.

Thanks for saying that. It's weird how posting can "sound" like someone. I wonder if Mikesellers and DLC think I sound the same now after meeting them.

I know that from now on I'll "hear" them when they post, which is different than what I had in my head before.

Yeah, I had a steep learning curve since I had no experience nor any type of training or anything. Stan just made me one and let me loose.

[color:white]I'm also the Moderator here

my photos

I think it is different after you've met the person. There's no way Alec can disguise himself from me. Same with carp.

Even without meeting a person I can sometimes tell who it is posting, even under another name. We all have a certain way of phrasing things.

In reply to:

I know that from now on I'll "hear" them when they post, which is different than what I had in my head before.

I have to remind myself that, unless you know the person who's "speaking", you can't discern tone of voice on a message board. I don't like having to use too many smilies and winkies, but I rarely mean anything in a malicious way and that's the only way to diffuse a comment that could be misinterpreted. Naked words on a screen can appear mean or hateful when they're absolutely not. Been bit on the butt by that a couple of times.

I never gave too much thought to who the mod was here but I can see why Stan chose you. [insert butt-kissing emoticon here]
