Let's talk running mate strategy.

Since their campaigns appear totally centered around their own personalities, I would guess that neither Hillary nor Obama would select a running mate, who could profile her/himself as a "competitor at home". By the same token, anyone with real personal plans might also shy away from being in the shadow.... especially, since serving "under" a woman or black man, might not be considered all that wonderful in certain circles.

On the Rep side, the opposite might be the case.
McCain is old and there is a distinct possibility of him not even serving his entire first term, because of health reasons. So, being VP on that ticket might well bring you very close to the helm, at least come reelection time.
So, if McCain is considered a somewhat left leaning Conservative whom would or could he pick, to bring the center-right faction on board? AND, who would be young and qualified enough, to become president after McCain.

I am bringing this up, because in one thread DC comments on how the Hillary/Barrack vs McCain race might not be as tight as the media suggest. It might be, depending on who the VP Candidate is!!

Who comes to mind and who would be most "dangerous"?

Someone like This Lady would make the ticket far more appealing, wouldn't she?

Trouble is Republican politics is never that creative. The inner workings of the GOP are operated like a local Rotary club. You wait around long enough and you'll just keep moving up the pecking order.
One thing I do admire about the Democrats is that they are willing to throw just about any candidate against the wall and see if they'll stick. With expected mixed results.
The GOP vp will be critical. Even more so because I do believe that McCain is one trick pony. He'll be gone after one term.

A Woman OR A Person of Color?

How about a WOMAN of COLOR?
Condilessa Rice... the Oil-Soaked Bi!ch that lied us into this war in the first place?
...Or Lieberman, so when McCain kicks he can become the 1st Zionist PotUS?

[color:green]"...or am I a butterfly that's dreaming she's a woman?" [color:green]. . . _ _ _ . . .
I'm thinking he'll want a running mate from the east or midwest to balance the ticket geographically.

But, personally I think Texas Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson would make a great Vice President.

<IMG SRC="http://media.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/politics/congress/members/photos/228/H001016.jpg"[/image]

But, she's not from the midwest nor the northeast.

Edited by electricron on 05/03/08 01:37 PM (server time).

My money's on Won't You Come Home, Kay Bailey. Perry's gonna run again, but I really want to see her whip his butt in the primaries. I like Kay, she's a good conservative. But whoever y'all run ~ our Mayor White is gonna kick Republican butt. Betcha good money.

We now return you to the boring world of national politics where your choices are lousy and the results will suck, regardless of who wins.

[color:white]xx[color:blue]I always deserve it. Really.
