My new white 14" iBook 600 is working well, but on opening or closing the screen, the hinge creaks and shudders more than I feel comfortable with. Will this settle down after use? Or is it a problem with OE tolerances? (On just my example or on the basic OE design?)

Thanks.

a friend of mine just got a new iBook as well, and it makes the same type of noises. To me it seams like it will stop doing it after a little wear. I don't think it is anything to worry about.

Ryan
I have had an iBook for about 4 to 5 months now, and it still makes the creaking noise if I open it slowly, but if I open it somewhat quickly it doesn't. It has gotten better with time, but I read that it isn't a problem and is just "one of those things" that you gotta deal with.

[color:red]semicolon dash parenthesis
