I don't believe any of the Polls Robert (Not trying to bust your bubble)... I think the media is hyping this to sell "News".. if everyone knew it was a blowout- they'd lose interest and there goes their cash cow. News isn't journalism any more it's all for $$.

Think about this...
~70% want us out of Iraq.... half of them want us out Immediately !

81% think the country is headed in the Wrong direction (aka Bush's way )

McCain is a very poor fund-raiser and doesn't have the network he needs... so he'll have to hitch his falling star to Bush and his fundraisers to keep up. Everyone already sees McCain as 4 more years of Bush... how do you think that'll play ?

SO what do you think his chances are - forget the Polls.

I just don't think he can sell Iraq unless they let the terrorists hit us again... this damm war is costing us $5000 / second !
People are PO-ed about the gas, PO-ed about housing, PO-ed about jobs.,.... and they are all being negatively affected by Iraq. " IT's Shiite or get off the pot" time.

I don't think he has a snowball's chance ... and we haven't even discussed the "other " issues !! Iraq was his strongest. How do you think he'll do on the others??

ANd all the hype about Dems being divided --sure we are (now) !!
Until they turn to take on McCain... then you'll see the media hyped that BS too !! I think this is going to be another 1964 election... remember Au*H2O ??

Ironic.... he was from Arizona too !!

David (OFI)

he needs to be up much bigger . . . sort of like how Dukakis was up back in the day. we know how that turned out as well. Obama hasn't even been able to campaign against McCain with any focus yet. i wouldn't be surprised to see Obama win over 300 electoral votes and win in places like Missouri and New Mexico and Colorado . . . and dare i say, Kansas? i think he might.

--
[color:red] Kansas Jayhawks -- 2008 National Champions
Clinton seems to be self-destructing, Obama's soothing sing-song is getting old .... time for some new excitement! ;)

Long shot, but I would consider Condi a highly promising VP for the old man.
Well educated, "real Black American" experience to Obama's theory, most visible cabinet member, able to hold a good speech and by far the most experienced one internationally ..... in < 4 years' time, the US would have her first black female president.

I too like Condoleezza Rice. But I think she will be viewed as belonging to the previous administration.

edit. Of course she could really go out on a limb, that appears counter to her boss's position, as to distance herself from the Bush administration. Hmm..might just work.

And upon further reflection...Poll suggests McCain-Rice ticket could win big

Edited by mojo_jojo on 04/10/08 09:19 PM (server time).

Not pointed at anyone

But there was a time where people did not like Condoleezza at all and add that if people are saying that McCain is just another Bush --- well would it make sense then to have them as running mates?? Nope

What McCain needs is a VP like the Dan Qualye type -> entertaining funny and dumber then all get go <-- this would cover up for McCain lack of sounding presidential and lack of posturing like a president. just my 2 cents, more so since the VP position is more of a figure head to begin with. Today the real positions is Secretary of State and National Security

I hope he picks her ...

and then we can rerun all the BS she hyped to get us into Iraq... I remember her talking of mushroom clouds,,,etc... she was as guilty as Bush, Cheney, and Rummy with pushing, hyping, and LYING to get this Damm war.... so go ahead John, really seal your fate.

Lets also go back to 9/11 and hear her say they never imagined people slamming planes into buildings... that was a BIG LIE, Robert. ... she has a lying trail as long as the Chisom !!

David (OFI)
