He proves to be an equal opportunity atheist.

It is unfortunate that Pat Condell is one of the few who has the higher moral ground when he rips Islam a new one since he rips all religions. If he is not listened to and we follow the tenets of accommodation we are going to drown in religious crap.

Why is it that people with a straight face can say religion is all peace and love thy neighbor and all we really end up is discussing violence.

It is somewhat unfair to post only a Pat Condell rant on Islam when he really wants to flush all religions down the toilet. We could compare the atrocities of Christianity proselytizing in Africa while banning any discussion of condoms and family planning thus stoking the flames of AIDS in that continent or the atrocities occuring in Gaza or the atrocities shown in the movie Fitna.

Speaking of the atrocities is perfectly OK. Maybe we will eventually find that Pat is right and we should flush all these organized religions down the toilet. Discussing how we should apologize for pointing out the atrocities is just a bunch of jabbering from the handbasket as we plummet into hell. (Except I don't believe in hell but Pat's idea that the Hindu hell for jabbering Islamist leaders who are reincarnated as lesbian Jews is something we can only pray for. )

And to give Pat a fair shake, his comments on monotheism in toto, God the Psycho:

But excuse me, I've got some sinning to do ...

Yes, except to be more clear, it is the reverse. Pat is offended by all religions but not quite equally. His pointing out the offenses are not usually equal since organized religions are so erratic in their offenses. He does, as I do, hold them all in contempt. This is also done unequally since he cuts the ones that do not openly proselytize by shoving stuff down his throat some slack.

Peace.

.. caused hardly a ripple.
Poor production values, old hat material, coming from an asinine right-wing nut.
Not worth spending time or thought on, really.

Condell is a Johnny-come-lately arse on this whole matter .... he loves to hear himself talk (must be that Monty Python accent of his), using the same worn out comparisons ... a big fat yawn on both accounts.

"Humor ist, wenn man trotzdem lacht" (Humour means laughing despite of it)
Condell has taken advantage of a new medium (YouTube) and is able to reach a whole new audience who otherwise may never have heard this particular POV. props to him for finding this niche and exploiting it.

Condell may be a Johnny-come-lately around your parts but here in the god fearing USA you never hear the comments of an atheist out loud belittling religion. It is just in the past few years that atheists have even been thought to exist here. We have risen to the level of irritating nuisance not worth bothering with. (Not even minority status achieved yet.)

Remember it was then vice-president George HW Bush who said [color:blue] "No, I don't know that atheists should be considered as citizens, nor should they be considered patriots. This is one nation under God". No off-hand comment, he said this in an extended interview and kept saying it in different ways. One nation under God did not bat an eye.

Since I had to look up who she was I think she would be in agreement with me and did not rotate a whit. Since her disappearance (caused by the murder of her and her family) wasn't even bothered to be investigated until a year later I stand by my, "atheists are never heard from".

I mean the god-fearing Christians killed her son's kitten. She is a great example of how being an atheist in America can become an uncomfortable situation since she was known as "the most hated woman in America."

Her disappearance wasn't investigated because the killer pulled off an excellent scam, and made it look like she and her family had absconded with the foundation's funds. The cops weren't looking for a body, not initially. Even her own foundation believed she'd robbed and run. She had been a third rate grifter before she ran into the movement.

But ~ I still think all her little parts are rolling over because she gave a loud, and often obnoxious voice to atheists for a good number of years. I say obnoxious, because she was and did the AA more harm than good.

I'm really surprised that you've never heard of her, although granted, she lived and worked down here. Ask some other atheists if they know who she was, I'm curious.

[color:white]xx[color:blue]I always deserve it. Really.
