and a person asked this question: Is your G5 the dual core model, 11,2 (M9591LL/A).

How do i figure this out? i didn't think G5's had dual cores. hmmm.

THE ONLY DUAL CORE WAS THE LAST MODEL. YOURS IS DUAL CPU'S, NOT ONE CPU WITH A DUAL CORE.

------> JD's Trivia game

------> MCF-MM Trivia game
i think I've found the info.: http://support.apple.com/specs/powermac/Power_Mac_G5_Early_2005.html

i included a Buy it now price, but now i am thinking that i set it too high since i have the older model of the dual 2.3 GHz. oops. i guess it won't get bought now.

So what are they going for now ? Dual CPU G5s ? I have one.

One point I make to my students about buying a Mac or a PC is that the Mac resale value is probably twice (%-wise) than a PC.... I mean a 3-4 yr old Mac will still fetch some decent cash !! ......and 3-4 yr old PC is ......

landfill material !!

David (OFI)
i just tried to reduce my Buy it now price and and bid was made before i could hit submit. dang.

nobody is going to buy it now at $1,150. ah well. i'll have to wait for the auction to play out.

btw, starmillway is the high bidder. you think that's Kate?

With the shift to Intel processors that rule doesn't apply so strongly anymore unless it's an Intel model. I think we're good for many years now by buying Intel. The PPC chips came out in 1994, the last ones were 2006. I recommend my customers not to buy a PPC of any kind for long term use as they are buying into at least 2 year old technology that will not be supported by 10.7, if not 10.6. The G5' were just a stop gap between the G4's and Intel. After seeing the water cooling I was not even interested in getting one. You might want to get rid of yours while the getting is good. The G4's weren't going any higher Mhz-wise for a few reasons, and Apple needed something to fill the gap while they worked on Intel based stuff. So they introduced the G5 heat tunnels.

My .02¢

------> JD's Trivia game

------> MCF-MM Trivia game
