If one were only to read some of our posters from Europe, particularly Britain, we'd be thinking the iPhone is some kind of disaster in terms of sales. As I suspected, the iPhone is a hit and generating a decent income as well as bringing in new customers to O2.

I particularly love this bit.

According to O2, the iPhone has the highest satisfaction rating and the lowest return rate of any phone in its lineup. Moreover, iPhone users generate roughly 30 percent more revenue per user than the carrier’s average customer.

I've yet to meet anyone who didn't love their iPhone. Nothing out there can beat it's ease of use. It's THE phone for those of us who aren't techno gadget freaks. Wish I had one. As the iPhone matures I predict it will grab the cell phone market the way the iPod has taken care of the .mp3 player market. Just watch.

I just had to switch to O2 because they're the only carrier that has a signal in my new home in rural Somerset - and believe me, I'd have gone for an iPhone if it wasn't for (a) £269/£329 for the 8/16Gb models, and then (b) minimum monthly deal of £35. I figure by the time my contract runs out and I upgrade, the iPhone will be loads cheaper and better and bigger and all that - and by then I'll have subtly persuaded my girlfriend that having an iPhone doesn't make me a corporate evil person or sad geek .

[color:purple]A lopsided man runs best along the little side-hills of success
- Frank Moore Colby

Buy two, one for you and one for her.

I think the iPhone will progress along similar lines as the iPod has. It was frightfully expensive but as time went on they got better and better. I have a really good memory and I remember well all the doomsayers saying the iPod would tank. It was too expensive. yada yada. I said said it would be a HUGE hit and it would sell millions. Guess I was right.

I didn't think I really NEEDED an iPhone, but now I don't know I got along without one. Today I was doing some calculations at work because I had to measure and draw a 2500 foot and a 1 mile radius from a locus in Adobe Illustrator for a groundwater discharge permit application. The map I was using was based on a metric scale, so I had to convert everything. I used my iPhone to do the conversions and the math. It's like having a Swiss Army Knife! I absolutely love it!
