Why? Ya got some freebies?

I'm using QX 4.1, AI 8, PS5.5, Acrobat 4.0, and so on.

I need to upgrade to the newest versions of most of my apps in fact, but since I recently sprang for new hardware, I don't have the budget for S/W as well. Soon, grasshopper, sooooon.

My Middle-Sized Daughter Gruff is at college doing an arts degree, so she certainly qualifies. I doubt that such a deal would be on offer here in NZ though...however, you've piqued my curiosity. I'll investigate.

Thanks for the tip MG.

OH...all you needed was the upgrades. Here I thought you were saying that there was an app that won't run in OSX. Well..I see you listed Quark Xpress? Why not go with the Adobe equivilent? (sorry if that's a dumb question, but I don't use either..just a suggestion)

Quark is a compatability anchor for some of my clients...I get files in 4.1 format from most of the ad agencies as templates, layouts etc. So I need Quark to open and modify their files.

PDF is becoming increasingly ubiquitous with film houses and printers/publishers, so I forsee the day when Quark will wither and fall, much like Pagemaker. I haven't tried InDesign yet, but I have a limited trial to install when I get the time and the inclination.

Yep, I'm on 10.1.5 on the G4 tower and 9.1 on the B/W G3.

Try here, M1. These folks are often out of particular apps, but they keep getting shipments all the time. All you need to do is provide a faxed copy of a college ID. Now, I don't know if it's a US-only service, but I'm sure that there are people here who'd be willing to receive and trans-ship for you .

Great wits are sure to madness near allied.--John Dryden, "Absalom and Achitophel"
