It's an Apple keyboard. What are the chances?

If this is a home computer, do you need Windows to boot up to the login screen? Mine is set to just automatically log in.

i wouldn't recommend you even fiddle with Ubuntu. it's just a linux distribution. i really like to promote open source software to my students so i like using Ubtuntu in class from time to time just to show it's viable. but, the truth of the matter is that OS X is far better for the average person.

I'm going with Boot Camp and ordered Win XP home edition or something like that.

The Tax Assessor in Yamhill County web page has a prog that doesn't work with Macintosh. That's another thing I will use with Windows.

Great suggestion, Mike. I don't know if I can set it to log in automatically, but that's certainly worth a try. I love this keyboard and it's a pain to have to go looking for another one.

I only have one account so I didn't have to set it to login automatically so I assume you have more than one account. TweakUI lets you set auto login.

I went with Fusion for several reasons.

1: They had a great rebate - and the price at Amazon plus the rebate made it $42.00.

2: It supports multi-processors. Considering I have eight cores now, that was significant.

3: They had a free utility that let me convert my Virtual PC 7 volume to a volume Fusion can work with. After re-activation of XP Pro, it's worked flawlessly!

4: VMWare has a long history in virtualization.

Eric

I didn't attend the funeral, but I sent a nice letter saying that I approved of it. - Mark Twain
