Micromat (Expo booth 1939) has posted information about TechTool Pro 4, a "completely new program, built from the ground up for Mac OS X" using Apple's Cocoa development environment. It now features a suite predictive diagnostics and analysis routines to help anticipate a drive failure before it happens as well as a new "eDrive" feature, which allows you to create an invisible emergency volume from your existing drive (the bootable drive can be accessed at startup using the 'e' key). Version 4 can also now run its full battery of tests simultaneously, offers a new optimization features to unfragment files, and has updated versions of its repair and diagnostic features.
