It took a Clinton to clean up after the first Bush, and it might take a Clinton to clean up after the second one too.

That was nifty.

[color:red] [color:orange] [color:yellow] [color:green] [color:blue] [color:purple]

I sympathize with Rolf quite a bit. I doubt there is anything new that we'll see from Obama and Clinton aside from what new curtains they decide to put up on their campaigns. The only real news would be if it gets dirty, which it likely will not. (The Clinton campaign has assigned the dirty work exclusively to their surrogates.)

-- Cee Bee Double-U

Still, you get a good feel of where these people are coming from. Tonight's debate is really good in the meat and potatoes department. Either one would be a great president. The question is, which one would be even better.

Moderator: Senator Clinton: That was a clear swipe at you!
Hillary: [smiling] Really? !! We're having such a good time here tonight. [Looks at Obama and touches his arm.]
Obama: Smiles and says we certainly are.

Hillary: Goes on with another answer.

This is almost unbelievable!!

I wonder what they promised each other before the debate.
_________

McCain is gaining on each of these two that it would be smart for the Demnocratic Party to encourage these two to be nice nice. We need to gain on McCain a whole lot! for the general election in November.

Edited by KateSorensen on 01/31/08 09:28 PM (server time).

I can't watch - I'm teaching tonight but I expected them to come out and be orderly , logical, and civil.. They both took some raps for the scuffle last week. I don't think anyone "won" that mess, but it may have hurt Hillary a little more.

IF it stays that way I won't be shocked. Even Bill C has toned it down. We don't need any Democratic "Lee Atwaters"... esp with Obama running !

Leave the swiftboating to slime balls that inhabit parts of the GOP. If McCain gets the nod I hope (and expect) it may be more cvil than with Bush Jr... but then maybe not.... but since he was a victim from Bush Jr in the 2000 primaries, he may not tolerate the extreme BS like they threw against Kerry.

I also heard that many in teh GOP don't want McCain... he's too bipartisan...many pundits like RUsh are bashing McCain.
IF McCain gets it a 3rd candidate to satisfy the far right may emerge.. like Huckabee... Bloomberg is also too moderate for them. IF that happens it could synch a Dem victory becasue they'd draw from the GOPmore than the Dem side.

David (OFI)

In reply to:

Moderator: Senator Clinton: That was a clear swipe at you!

That sucked.

Wolf Blitzer sucked.

Are you telling me that he needed to interject some sort of conflict into these proceedings to make them worthwhile? He did that not once but three times in my estimation. Is CNN so hard up for ratings-- and did they think that any viewer that cared enough to tune in in the first place would tune out (out of boredom) for lack of conflict?

Are the issues not enough in the minds of corporate media to keep our attention?

Yikes! I hope they're not right.

Screw Wolf Blitzer anyway.
