...seems to be working. About two weeks ago I posted that with Leopard I frequently experience the eternally spinning color wheel at the login pane when my iMac G4 wakes from sleep with a Firewire drive connected. You suggested turning off Spotlight indexing for that drive. I was on travel for the rest of that week, but I tried your suggestion about a week ago. Many users have awakened the iMac from sleep and logged in.
