well there is bound to be something specific to your machine but type 2 errors are always address errors.
ID=02 Address Error
The Motorola 68000 microprocessor can access memory in increments of one byte (8 bits), one word (16 bits), or one long word (32 bits). The microprocessor can access a byte of information at an odd or even memory address. But it must access a word or long word at an even memory address. So, when the microprocessor attempts to read or write a word or long word at an odd address, you see this error. Since that's a 50/50 proposition when running random code, this one shows up quite often.

Now that leaves it open and there are numerous reasons why this may occur on your machine.
BUT
I am afraid that you are the person who knows them.

=============================================================
| "Behold the Turtle, he maketh no progress ==== until he sticketh out his neck." |
=============================================================

Found this in another forum:

In reply to:

Microsoft extensions installed by Photoshop 5.5 cause crashes in Office 98;
Kodak extension follow-up
Update
Microsoft extensions Three readers (Steve Godun, Michael Frankel and Simon Brown) have now reported the exact same cause for system crashes in Office applications after installing Photoshop 5.5.

Photoshop 5.5 installs two Microsoft extensions that are a different version that what Office installs:

* Microsoft Structured Storage
* Microsoft Component Library

Apparently, Photoshop installs versions 2.22 of these extensions, while the OLE component of Word 98 installs version 2.24 (of possible relevance, the Internet Access component of Mac OS 9 reportedly also installs the older 2.22 version).

For Steve and Michael, the symptom was Type 2 errors in Microsoft Office applications (especially Word 98, when copying or saving). Steve has seen this occur on several installations. Simon's symptom was Type 11 errors in Word and PowerPoint.

The solution is to delete the versions of the extensions installed by Photoshop. When you next launch an Office application, the newer versions will be installed. yeah I never use MS IE for much, especially QuickTime so I wouldn't know .. you probably need the latest version ..of QT.. for IE 5.1.
I only keep it around to make my iDisk pages.

=============================================================
| "Behold the Turtle, he maketh no progress ==== until he sticketh out his neck." |
=============================================================
