I think the iPhone is designed to keep out the riffraff, sort of like a fancy restaurant. For one thing, you need to be over 18 and have a valid credit card (along with a good credit rating) just to get an account with AT&T. Then you need to get an account with Apple via iTunes, which also requires a valid credit card. You also must be running either OS X, XP, or Vista. So, anyways, these people come along who don't meet any of the above, and perhaps buy a hot iPhone, or get one on eBay or whatever. They have to hack it to get it to work. One thing leads to another and like "the tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive", they wind up in the spider's lair. Then they complain about Apple products.

Just my humble opinion... ;-)
