The difference is that in Indiana they subsidize gasoline instead of taxing it. I lived there 15 years. They have to do stuff like that to keep the population from doing the mass exodus. <br><br>I paid 27 cents for my first pack of Tareytons in Indianapolis. Wasn't their motto, "I would rather be cheap than move"?<br><br>
Saw $2.89 on the way home today, in MI<br><br>I used to think it was terrible that life was unfair. Then I thought what if life were fair and all of the terrible things that happen came because we really deserved them? Now I take comfort in the general unfairness and hostility of the universe.

Good. I hope the price drops even more. But the cost of petroleum is a little like global warming--no doubt there'll be ups and downs, but the trend is ever upwards. And I hate to say this, but that's exactly how it should be. It's a finite commodity, and we all know about supply-demand curves.<br><br>   
