You may have noticed Stan Flack's post about the "new" Shawn King internet radio show. Fired ("resigned over philosophical differences") by MacShow Live, Shawn King, as announced by World Without Borders (looks like we know which "side" they're on) will be "present" at 9PM Wednesday, 01/23/02, coincidentally the time that MacShow Live normally airs although I don't think it's scheduled to "return" until 1/30/02.

(World Without Borders is on the online chat area where listeners to the show would gather to make jokes, pass the time, and sometimes even ask a valid question that Shawn would respond to on air.)

Apparently Shawn King has found a new pony to ride, Your Mac Life. It's yourmaclife.com but don't bother visiting. They haven't even taken the tape off the sheetrock yet.

Anyway, as one who likes Shawn King, although I easily disagree with half or more of his ideas, I do like his honest, sometimes sarcastic appraisal of things, so I'm pleased to hear of this turnabout from yesterday's news.

Besides, we haven't had a good "labor dispute" on the Mac web since at least 1997. That small matter of the cow pattie throwing that occurred between the Cube website and the colonel last year really wasn't all that interesting.

So a visit to World Without Borders 9PM EST 1/23/02 might, or might not, be interesting.

No, gossip doesn't interest me much. I just get tired of Ted Landau and staff report a dozen new problems to the Mac world each day.

128k_Mac

The box said "Requires Microsoft Windows or better" so I bought a Macintosh.
I thought the first radio program, whose archives are still posted, on Your Mac Life was quite interesting.

(BTW, to download the segments of the programs, or any archived QT file which doesn't open a conventional window for saving in QT Pro, option-click the file. Such files are sometimes in a SimpleText file containing a QT .mov file, of all things, and can't be saved in a conventional manner. Other archived QT files that were originally streamed can sometimes be downloaded without QT Pro simply by using option-click. I don't have a clue why this is or why some old MacShow Live .mov files, for example, have a SimpleText creator. Your mileage may vary.)

128k_Mac

The box said "Requires Microsoft Windows or better" so I bought a Macintosh.
