One thing is for sure, if the the top three teams win out (a huge IF) there are going to be some pissed-off people in one of those three towns, and understandably so.

If it is the Ducks that get snubbed for yet another big 12 team, they had better be watching their backs in Lawrence. The big 12 has a way of sneaking their teams into these national championship games (and usually losing). This is not KU's fault, nor their concern, but that conference has been the cause of several of the top five biggest BCS snubs in recent years. The behind-the-scenes last minute lobbying by Texas to vault over Cal in the last rankings of 2005 isn't even on that list because it wasn't for the championship (but still for the Rose Bowl), but it was dirty as hell.

Edited by Trog on 11/11/07 05:23 PM (server time).

well, Texas did win the national championship the year before last against a Pac-10 team that everyone thought would win (including me).

EDIT: like you mentioned earlier, money drives these things. Texas is known as a big draw and the bowls make a lot of money by including them. If KU wins it's next two and loses to OU in a close game, i wouldn't be surprised to see Texas with a few losses leapfrog over KU with 1 loss even though they're in the same conference. that's just the way this crap works.

Edited by FSM on 11/11/07 06:24 PM (server time).

11 - 0 now (well 45 - 7 -- our reserves played most of the 4th). sure, iowa state isn't a very good team (sagarin top 90), but they have been hot as of late and we beat them pretty darn soundly.

next two weeks we play the #4 and #3 teams in the BCS (of course, if we lose next week then we won't play OU the following week).

rockchalk jayhawk!!!111

That is cool, I could root for Kansas or Missouri. I'm sick of watching Oklahoma go and get their butt kicked in a boring championship game.

That's the second time I've seen you put a string of 1s at after exclamation marks. Is that a hip new internet code that I don't know about?

yeah, i am hip ya know.

pwnage!!!!11!1 (see, you can do variations of the ! an the 1)

Here's a thread that demonstrates the use . . . in fact, this is the best thread EVAR!!!1!1!!

not really, but here's the wikipedia explanation:
In reply to:

In recent Internet culture, especially where leet is used, an excessive way of expressing exclamation in text is seen as !!!!!!111. This notation originates from the eagerness to add multiple exclamation marks but failing to hit the shift key combination properly. Later this behavior has evolved into a sign of recognition for certain Internet cultures who now intentionally add 1s after their expressions either to ridicule people who do it without purpose or as a sign of recognition towards others who also are familiar with the behavior. As a further pun to this development of linguistics, some add literal ones such as !!!!!one!11 to explicitly state that their use of 1s was intentionally typed, since one is fairly unlikely to be typed by accident.

Edited by FSM on 11/17/07 07:40 PM (server time).
