Again, I look at who's online (and I wish more of us, including me, did not hide our online status, so I would know whether or I want to hang out at MM any longer) and the "location" field again says someone is "printing a thread". Has anyone ever done this? If so, may I ask why? I'm not saying it's a waste of time, maybe some people don't want to stare at a computer screen for too long, or have bad eyesight or whatever. I am just curious. Anybody who has printed a thread here care to give their motivation?

While I am on the subject: Any takers on the idea of NOT choosing to hide one's presence when they are logged on to MM? Some of us don't choose the anonymous option II realize, but I am a lot more likely to stick around if I see a regular I know and love is logged in.

We are what we repeatedly do. -Aristotle

Nope, never printed out a thread nor did I know anyone who did.

In reply to:

I am a lot more likely to stick around if I see a regular I know and love is logged in.

Hmmm....so if I uncloak and it shows just you and me here and you leave, I guess I know I'm not one you know and love.

edit: I'm now uncloaked.

my beer blog
over at MC, there was an episode once where a poster (i won't name him) was visited by the secret service and they had printout after printout of threads that were participated in by this poster. i suppose we're probably being watched by homeland security . . . a good use of their time.

Yeah, well the sad thing is I am at work, writing missives when I have time. I'll stay "un-cloaked" for the time being (and keep an eye out for Romulans) and see how it goes.

Anyone else care to join the ranks of the uncloaked as an experiment? What could it hurt?

We are what we repeatedly do. -Aristotle

I am jealous of that Lone Star tag of yours. How keen is that? I could be "the Hawkeye". (Iowa is the Hawkeye state) but it just doesn't have the same feel to it.

Who's cloaked?

We are what we repeatedly do. -Aristotle

I got lucky and caught [color:green]green me before he moved on. I wish he'd come back, it was like having our very own magic dude. I'm sorry I wasn't here back in the day to know him better.

Back in the day, in another forum far, far away, there was a thread about checking to see who was on, printing, reading, whatever.

I said that looking at that list made me feel like a peeing tom.

Really. Easily the best ever fora typo in the universe.

[color:blue]I always deserve it. Really.

If greenme is in school in San Francisco it might be a cold day in the Sahara before he comes back. I wish he would too, though. He's a very good guy.

   
