boy, I hope not!

I'd be ready to jump off the tallest building here in Merrimack New Hampshire if MS bought out Macromedia. And after I twisted my ankle from the fall...

well, anyways I'd really hate to see the MS monopoly take out the wonderful technology at Macromedia.

Macromedia has such a tiny portion of the "graphics" industry, I doubt anyone would buy them for that purpose. Now there web apps are another story... if MS were to buy Macromedia (which I don't think would happen) it would put a serious dent in Adobe's bottom line. Then again, Flash is an open format and MS buying the MM brand won't change that.

Visit Me At My .Mac Site

Then again, Flash is an open format and MS buying the MM brand won't change that.

Hummm.
The first thing that MS would do if they bought Macromedia - Is Kill it - MS would then move to Bastered the Flash Application and player to PC only. MS would then state that they have 95% of the market share and their version of Flash would ensure that the product would meet MS standards and thus assuring to our customers the best quality product = raming it down everyones throats.

So JD
Its open now - It won't be if MS gets their hands on it. Just like everything else that they have bought. Sun Micro Systems just won a small battle with MS about JAVA but that won't last long either.

Edited by carp on 12/24/02 05:34 PM (server time).
