I only seldom "borrow" that. Unless I'm out somewhere that has free wifi, I mostly don't use my MacBook. Presently I have a choice of 3 places where I can use the wifi, 1 coffee shop and 2 restaurants. I still can't connect at the place I would most like to be able to connect. We recently had a Starbucks (there goes the neighborhood) open but I think they charge for wifi use.

It appears that my only choices for broadband are Charter or satellite. Some people have ATT DSL and are happy with it but ATT says it's not available to my phone number. I think that Charter is a reprehensible company and they basically have no competition around here. A friend just got Charter broadband. She said she was called by someone from Charter who inquired about their service. They asked her to rate it on a 1-5 scale, she gave them a minus 2, and they hung up on her.

Old farts, the hidden caulk of civilization. Jim Atkinson
I wouldn't go so far as to give them a "-2" but not far from it.
However, Charter has cleaned up their act in the past few months....well, they tried. I guess someone else is moving in the neighborhood: Verizon DSL.
(This is the St Louis. MO "Metro East"- area, the IL-side). Charter enjoyed a monopoly for years in this area, and the increasing rates (every year!) show it.

[color:blue][/b]Hodie mihi. Cras tibi.[/b]
