well you all know how we like to tout Macs over Windows... sometimes opportunity falls in your lap and you relish the moment.

I just had one... been trying to convert several people and have from time to time told them how much easier Macs were.
Well this AM was a rare moment when someone was stuck in a loop in Windows and called for the Apple cavalry. I don't know WHY this happened but a colleague had a slide in MS PowerPoint he was trying to move from one presentation to a new one. He tried copying and pasting the components but could never get them to work. It allowed him to copy them but not to paste them on a new slide in the new Presentation. SO I asked him if he had them on his jump drive and he said, "of course"...
so I went and got my iBook, fired tha motha up, and plugged in the Jump drive... we opened both presentations and I conveniently slid the slide from one Presentation to the new one - BAM !! DONE !!
... his mouth hit the floor !! (can you say Kodak moment) ..."you can do that??" , he asked.
"all the damm time" I replied... (NOT rocket science to us Mac users!)

he was SPEECHLESS because the slide had about 12 components and he was trying to cut and paste each... he could only get 1 or 2 to work but the graphic parts would not "paste". {I have NO clue why.}

I politely reiterated-- "you gotta get free from Windows" ...
I also threw in "even MS own programs behave better on a Mac than they do their own OS !"

We'll see if it does any good.

David (OFI)
.... call their IT."

yeah Idiot Technologists.... around here they fix one thing in Windows or the LAN and break 3 more.... they generate a ticket for each job....

yes job, not PC ... so it insures "job security"...

and costs the taxpayers MORE !!

David (OFI)
That's Sweet, ain't it?

I did the same with a long time unconvertible lately.

The, e-hem, 'DIFFERENCE' had been a soar-spot in our relationship
until she came to me asking if I could redo a page previously done in
Power Point that she'd been given to display the "Butterfly Release"
she and her husband had done at the garden where she volunteers at:

BEFORE&AFTER

She's since become a bit more accepting of Mac-Abilities too.

"One Small Step..."
ROCK ON

Geee I dunno... the "After" gives my stomach "butterflies"

all kidding aside... yeah the difference is "night and day "...

same as the differnece between Windows and OS X.

I can't wait until Leopard arrives and really blows VISTA to Zune and back !!

David (OFI)
