I'm new to the mac world. I'm looking to burn dvd's, and load the music on my iPod to my computer. Anyone have some tips? Also, how do I open a .rar file?

Edited by shareworld on 05/14/07 07:51 PM (server time).

Welcome. What mac do you have? I assume it has a superdrive since you want to burn DVD's.

You could use the Finder to burn them. Put a blank DVD in, drag the files to the DVD on the desktop and then when you are ready, right click and choose burn. (or double click on the DVD and then in that window will appear a Burn button).

As far as loading music from your iPod to your computer....I assume you have a Windows-compatible one? Perhaps someone can help you there.

I have the black macbook. Thank you for your advice, but when I tried what you posted, no disc icon appears on screen, though iDVD does open up. When I tell the burn folder to burn, a prompt appears saying "insert a disc with at least 4.2 GB". The disc I use has 4.7 GB...What do I do?
