Well, my landlady, who lives downstairs and with whom we've had a terrific relationship, just gave me the bestest birthday present ever... NOT! She has informed us that she's putting the house on the market, and has asked us to move out by the end of April — a month before the end of our lease — and we were expecting to renew. She's offered to give us April rent-free if we move early because she's moving out, too and wants to show the place empty. But the apartment inventory in this area is pitifully thin this time of year, and we have the added disadvantage of pets. Plus we have to limit our search to within the school district. So now I've gotta start haggling with her to make this a little less disruptive.

Man, does this ever suck!

Whoa!

That's rough.
Seriously, I'm sorry to hear that.
Yeah the pet's are the ripper. I'm still
holding my breath to see if my owners renew.
We've been here for over 20 years but my lease is
up in May. They keep us holding our breath every year.

[color:white].
We had a steal on this place. Over 1800 sq. ft. Local and express buses into Boston at the corner. Big deck in the back. All for well under a buck a foot. I wish we were in a position to buy right now. The market is real soft, but prices here are still out of reach. Homes in this area are sitting for months while the sellers keep dropping their prices. No doubt, this place will take a while to sell, too, and why the owner wouldn't want the income in the interim is beyond me. Buy them's the breaks I guess.

Your right that news does suck but it is your birthday....so make your BD wish count.... cause wishes do come true...if your young at heart

One reason why birds and horses are not unhappy is
because they are not trying to impress other birds and horses.
Dale Carnegie
Maybe you could swing a deal where you stay and "show" the house for her. Save her jacking with an agent? And keeps the house safe and occupied while it's on the market.

By Owner is the mini rage down here, where folks are cutting out the realtor. Sure sorry to hear this. Guess you were too much of a gentleman to guilt her out about dumping on you on your BDay.

You keep us posted and we'll keep our fingers crossed.

[color:blue] Talk about things and nobody cares . . .
