It is only happening at one place? Do you still get a signal at home?

I had that happen to me at one place...couldn't get wireless after that first time. I never did find out what was the cause.

Yes. I was on 10.4.8 before and I've run the combo updater to 10.4.9 since then.

John. I still get the signal at home...that's how I managed to download the combo update...all 308MB of it.

Old farts, the hidden caulk of civilization. Jim Atkinson
I have no idea why, but every so often one of our laptops (TiBook G4 and Aluminum G4) won't recognize our home network. If I put the machine back to sleep and wake it up it almost always recognizes it again. Its not real common, but its been going on for quite a while. Therefore, it probably isn't related to your problem, but I wonder if you've tried it.
