so, i have spent the past two evenings setting up a server with phpbb forum software on it. msql and php and all that jazz. ichi (from maccentral forums) helped me from 11pm - 4:30am on friday and from 10pm - 1:30am last night. we conversed the whole time using iChat. i figured i could take the script of our chats (since i have iChat save all chats) and use them if i decide to ever do it again. i just checked an found out that iChat didn't save those conversations. in fact, it is only saving about every 3rd or 4th conversation. this sux. all that work is lost and i am in the same boat next time. shucks!

hope it gets an update soon (MWSF).

[color:blue] -sean

Ouch, that sucks. Mine doesn't seem to have that problem, because I regularly have to throw away a few hundred tiny files a week from the iChat transcripts folder...

yeah, i tend to delete all but the work-related chats, and this bug has done much of the work for me.

oh well. such is life.

most of what we discussed can be found by reading the documentation and scanning through the user forums. i checked my preferences and the "save chats" option was not clicked, yet i know i turned it on and i can clearly see that many of my chats are saved. i think i'll trash prefs and try again.

[color:blue] -sean
