excuse the newbie here, what do smart folders do & how can they help me?<br><br>All i can gater is i can make a smart folder load up with things i've worked on today. But when i say go to documents, i can list things by date so how different is a smart folder?<br><br>

You can set whatever parameter you want on a smart folder. For instance, if you have a whole bunch of files that have s common subject, you can set up a smartfolder that automatically includes all files with that term in their content. I just set one up withthe word "Wordsworth" as what the smartfolder screen calls the search term, with no date limitation, and immediately got a folder that listed all the files on my HD that have "wordsworth" in the content somewhere. The key is to play around with the search parameters until you get somethign as narrowly defined as you want it--all files that have the word boopity boo in the contents with creation dates between 1/3/00 and 4/5/03 that are color-labeled purple.<br><br>
