But you can't pick your neighbors?

I wish I could pick my neighbors....or at least get rid of one in particular. This guy is THE biggest redneck I have ever met. And being from KY, you know we have our share of rednecks!

I could create a LONG post here about the problems I have had with him but I don't have that much time! This guy is so stupid it's funny. He now drives by (I live on a court, he has to drive by my house) and he flips me off...for no apparent reason.

Anyone else have a neighbor they wish they could get rid of?

Edited by OSXaddict on 12/20/06 03:18 PM (server time).

oh man, no thank you!

One of these days I'm going to have my camera ready for when he drives by. He'll probably call the police on me again. (of course the last time the officer said that someone is going to punch that guy's lights out because of his mouth!)

Well, if your name ended with "Soprano", you could make him eat his finger..

I have bad neighbors, and they seem to be addicted to tossing garbage over the fence:
The right: their kids throw stuff like cans of soda, broken toys, and recently a large knife.
The back: they throw coal, burnt tobacco, and empty plastic bottles.
The left: they're very quiet and seem to like solitude, don't even acknowledge my greetings when I say hello or wave.

Moving away from the neighborhood is on our agenda, but financially we're not ready.

that sux. i think i'd rather not see a photo of him driving by.

my last neighborhood was in a very religiously conservative community and mostly upper middle class -- e.g., the guys in the neighborhood and i were all watching a pay per view boxing match on a neighbors new big plasma when Ty Willingham was announced as the new head football coach at Notre Dame. the whole lot of these guys started going off on him and making black jokes, etc. i felt badly that i didn't say anything, but there's something very intimidating about being 1 small guy in a room of 10 - 12 guys when mob mentality starts to set in. i just made an excuse to leave and missed the boxing event.

we moved as soon as we could.

our new neighbors are mostly nice people (liberal as well as luck would have it) and we like them all sans the guy next door. he's a jerk. he's also one of the only fertility doctors in town. i've known 2 people who have used him and they both ended up going elsewhere because this guy had horrible social skills and isn't very nice. he tried to explain to me and my builder that my 2nd garage was too close to his property. my builder told him he was wrong, blah, blah, blah . . . in the end, my builder was right and i haven't heard as much as a peep from the neighbor in the last year since. then again, he also owns a house right on lake michigan and i think they stay there 95% of the time. thank gosh. i wish they'd just sell the house next to us; though, i think they will have trouble. it's u-g-l-y. it's about 4,000 square feet, but much of that is from additions, so it looks strange and it looks pieced together. they've really ruined it. but, at least the guy isn't a redneck and at least he's gone most of the time. but, if he's flip me off i wouldn't have to pretend to smile when i see him.

--
"I am mindful that diversity is one of the strengths of the country" --president bush on 9/27/05
I was kidding about taking his photo. This guy would probably hop in his wheelchair (yes, he's in a wheelchair, which at first I felt sorry, but you have to see this guy in person. He's got limited use of his legs I guess) and come down here and run his mouth again. Last time he did that I told him to shut up (after numerous times of saying "wait. hold on." etc. Yelling Shut Up was the ONLY thing he understood) and after telling him exactly what he did wrong, he did apologize. (he had called my work and threatened to take me to court. For what? I haven't a clue)

This guy is actually mentally unstable. I truly believe that. That's why I don't even acknowledge him or try to instigate anything.
